My idea for the Hotel Haggle app came to me on a sunny morning on July 3 2017. I was sitting on my balcony. I had a cast on my leg, I was to be on crutches for 2 months. My girlfriend was taking care of me (which was no easy task) so I wanted to do something to say thank you. I thought that a holiday would be nice. I took the usual approach, did the standard search and tried to narrow down all of the different destinations and “deals” on offer. There were so many options that I had to click through to determine if they met our criteria…. I could have spent a month trying to get through it all! But seriously – it was a tad overwhelming. While I was searching I thought to myself “this should be easier!” I knew how much I wanted to spend, new that I wanted to be on the beach and that she would want a spa. So wouldn’t it be great if I could simply type in my budget and a few key features and then let the opportunities come to me?
And that’s how Hotel Haggle was born.
How it works:
You put in as much or as little criteria as you want and then sit back and wait for the deals to come to you! Up to 5 individual and personalized deals will be delivered to your inbox. Once you click on a deal, you have 24 hours to accept, decline or ‘Haggle” back and forth with the hotel to design the trip you want.
The idea is that the hotels chosen to be on my app will have the opportunity to customize their offers by partnering with local businesses and attractions to design a personalized deal just for you. It might be a round of golf at the local course, a romantic dinner in town, scuba diving or even something unique like glass blowing lessons. What I love about this feature is that through these partnerships, your hotel will give you the opportunity to really immerse yourself in the local culture, if that’s what you have in mind.
